“Our ESG lead is missing an employee engagement partner. Not just to help educate and raise awareness, but to ensure engagement leads to results, that is, we achieve our targets and meet our commitments. To do this we need to identify and work with the specific cohorts of our employee population that are driving sustainability impacts, such as carbon and resource footprints, as well as social impacts,” Sustainability champion, global software company
“From our internal discussions we know pretty much all our employees want to see environment, sustainability and social impact as part of our business’s values. Getting employees engaged shouldn't be a challenge, but it is all about doing that at the right time, with the right information, and supporting them through change. That is the key challenge,” Sustainability lead, marketing business
“Identifying our priorities is key for a small business. There are so many areas of sustainability that you can look at and pour energy and time into; it is critical for an SME to know where to focus and get the first wins,” Sustainability lead, marketing business

OckiPro is on a mission to help organisations engage key stakeholder groups to bridge the gap between intention and action on embedding sustainability throughout their operations. It aims to help organisations meet their targets and legal obligations, and deliver value to society in the long term. Initially, the service has a focus on employee engagement. Future developments will centre on supplier, consumer and customer engagement and advocacy.
The people behind Ocki have decades of experience providing information, insights and events to help businesses improve the safety and sustainability of their products. They have been researching the need for Ocki and the sustainability challenges faced by organisations for two years – translating what they’ve learned into a service that is designed to address those challenges.
They have a detailed knowledge of sustainability and business, and are using that expertise to collaborate with organisations to accelerate engagement in sustainability. They are supporting members to improve business outcomes linked to sustainability, including greater efficiency, improved customer relationships, new business opportunities, and better staff retention and recruitment.
The name Ocki came about from early thinking on a community service to raise awareness among the public on broad sustainability issues – Operation Consumer Knowledge and Information. We decided to use Ocki as a brand name that sounds positive and playful, which we believe is essential in engaging people in sustainability – which can often seem daunting and overly technical.
