A lot of sustainability champions tell us they want to network with others to talk about how best to tackle the challenges that they face embedding sustainability across their organisations. For many, it is the first time this has been attempted and they are keen to learn from others and discuss different approaches.
OckiPro’s champion and leader memberships include access to monthly roundtables. The aim is to share experiences, challenges and best practices in sustainability engagement, digging into activities that deliver results – whether that’s meeting sustainability targets, improving efficiency, winning new business, or improving recruitment, staff skills and retention.
Roundtables will be online, facilitated by OckiPro’s senior team – who have decades of experience chairing and moderating B2B events.
Earlier this year, we successfully hosted five roundtables that led to the development of our Playbook on Engaging Employees in Sustainability.
Roundtables will be open to champion and leader members’ colleagues in other functions if topics are relevant to them.
A report from all roundtables will be available after the event, ensuring ongoing access to peer learning.
Continuing the work already started, OckiPro services will be developed on the back of roundtable discussions.
Current topics in the pipeline:
Engaging with different functions, including HR, finance and procurement
The business case for engagement
Making the business case for sustainability
Incorporating sustainability into employee objectives and performance management
Members will also have the opportunity to propose topics.
Roundtables – what our network thinks“Roundtables help us to understand where we are compared to other organisations. There’s also the opportunity for those that are more advanced helping others to be more sustainable – including the lessons learned or what works and what doesn’t.”
“Roundtables are an opportunity to learn about different initiatives, hearing about the tools leading organisations are using, and the ways they are tackling social and environmental impacts.” |
OckiPro has heard during its ongoing market research how sustainability professionals face a myriad of practical issues. To provide a quick and flexible response to these issues, we have identified a list of specific challenges faced by sustainability leads that will be addressed in a series of virtual workshops. Under the banner ’How to...’, these workshops will feature experts in their field, who will provide context and insights to problems faced, set practical exercises to examine the issue further, and the opportunity to ask questions and discuss solutions.
A report from all workshops will be available after the event, ensuring ongoing access to peer learning.
Topics being scheduled include, How to...:
Visit our Events page, and sign up to our monthly newsletter to keep track of what’s coming up.
All OckiPro membership levels, practitioner, champion and leader, can attend the virtual workshops. If you are grappling with a specific, practical problem, let us know using info@ockisustainability.com
In response to our market research findings, OckiPro is developing specific live training programmes to support its members, starting off with ’train the trainers’ and ’problem solving’.
OckiPro champion and leader level members interested in these training models, or other topics, should contact info@ockisustainability.com for more information.
What our network thinks“In sustainability, we have very little time and capacity, so support with direct training would be the preferred route.”
“The demographic of our workforce would welcome training so they can learn how sustainability intersects with their roles for themselves.”
“Training needs to be company specific. A lot of what’s out there is quite generic; we need to help employees make the link between our company’s sustainability strategy and goals and their role.”
“Train the trainers would really work for us.” |
